ink painting and christmas commissions

Ink is about contrast. There’s always something so freeing about throwing ink around a blank page, while at the same time a sense of apprehension that it could all go horribly wrong at any minute, such is the unforgiving nature of the medium. When things work, the results are hard and punchy, graphic in their explicit rendering but with the possibility of subtlety and abstraction when applied with more delicate intention.

The paintings in this post are from a set of commissions done to celebrate father’s day back in September. The commissioned artwork covered a range of subjects, from family members and pets, to celebrities, musicians, super heroes and sports stars.

I currently have a commission window open in the run up to Christmas, so if you’re interested in having your own bespoke painting done in time for the holidays please get in touch. End date for ordering is December 15th. This is primarily for Melbourne residents only, but if you’re a little further afield let me know and we’ll see if we can work something out.

Stay safe everyone.
